I was fortunate enough to see Joe Strummer and the Mescalero's at Bogarts, obviously before Joe died. When I found out Joe was dead, it ruined Christmas, and has really kind of soured me for the holiday. I mean, what kind of a Santa Claus takes Joe Strummer? Anyway, I spent the rest of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day inside a bottle of Tullamore Dew...
Anyway, check this out. Two of my favorite tastes that taste great together.
Thinking of Christmas in August?
ReplyDeleteAs one with a preference for Single Malt Scotch whisky, I've not tried Tullamore Dew . . . yet.

You lucky SOB. I had a chance to see him and blew it off thinking I'd catch him next time. It's one of my all-time great regrets.
ReplyDeleteSmall consolation, but I feel for you.
ReplyDeleteAnother one: I saw Nirvana.
All of this was the result of missing out on seeing the original Jane's Addiction in '92 with a gorgeous "alternative" girl in Chicago. I said the same as Dr. Puma, and then they broke up, only to reform as a sad shell. Regrets...
Two of my great loves in one post... Joe Strummer, and Tullamore Dew.
ReplyDeleteTullamore Dew is the only whiskey I'll put in an Irish Coffee. Just a tiny bit of brown sugar at the bottom, a shot of Dew, a good mix till the sugar dissolves, add coffee and freshly whipped cream... heaven.
Joe Strummer? Heaven on a stick. God, I still miss him.
