Ghost Tyrants in the Sky

"Saddam Hussein could become a martyr for his supporters because of the controversial circumstances surrounding his hanging, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a newspaper interview."

Unfortunately, in the goatfuck that is Iraq and, to be precise about it, our policy towards it.

If you think about it, precious little about the trial seemed entirely above boards, and the appearance of a kangaroo court only fuels the enmity towards us.

See, its something like this that gives the appearance of illegitimacy of the government itself (as if it didn't already stink like that), tending to give the impression that the regime in place now is just a puppet of the BushCo. I think I've heard this one before...

Except the punchline isn't funny; it is a warning, one that has played out for thousands of years of god-emperors trying to build nations and empires. The hubris of ideology reduces subjects to objects, people as ends becoming means to an end. The hubris of ideology is always mercenary.

BushCo is mercenary, and always has been, and what is more, their pursuit of surety and ideological gain damns us to an enveloping sinkhole of carnage and decay for the foreseeable future.

I'm not suggesting a pogrom against republicans or anything, but I certainly would like to personally thank each and every person with a Bush/Cheney sticker on their vehicle, on behalf of every drop of blood that's hit the ground in Babylon.

"Thanks for the knee jerk. Thanks for thinkin' it through. Sleep well last night?".
