"The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin says the McCain campaign is using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election.
'It's likely to be damaging to the Governor's administration', said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation of claims that Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired."
Wiz,
ReplyDeleteLooong time reader, lurker, follower of your blog. It's has undoubtedly aided in my "unlearning" of 12 years of Catholic education.
My issue (or rather, where I need help) is that I'm surrounded by Palin worshippers. She's "down-to-earth" they say; she's "for the people" they swoon; she's "fresh, exciting, and a real person."
These people, just like St. Sarah of Palin, are apparently afraid of books. They fear having their John Wayne-esque view of Americana being dashed by a black man with a microphone. They can't possibly vote country first, party second. Put the Michelin man with a elephant pin at a podium, they would hail him as the next Abraham Lincoln.
A "real person" doesn't make statements like this:
"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that." (Referring to a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in Alaska.)
Anyone who uses "God's will" in a sentence....scares me.
OH, but she got rid of the governor's limo service. That's blue collar for ya!
How do I deal with this? Any advice? How do I survive? I can feel my IQ dropping by the day. My teeth hurt from all the mashing.
If only I could get Palin's psychotic preacher to pray for me....but alas, it must not be "God's will."
