Well what an ironic day for the Bengals.
This off season for the Bengals has been not what you would expect from a team that made such great strides last year. The "in Marvin we trust" motto has taken a big hit in the last year or so because of the young and now rich thugs that Marvin Lewis has drafted, are now getting into some off the field trouble.
And now today, they draft Ahmad Brooks in the Supplimental draft, a guy with plenty of off the field issues of his own. And on the same day, it is revealed that Odell Thurman, a rookie sensation LB from last year, has been suspended for the first 4 games of the regular season for a violation of the NFL substance abuse system.
I thought that we had enough of this crap from Chris Henry, another rookie from last year who has been arrested 4 times in the past year. The highlight of the 4 arrests has got to be the one where he got pulled over by the Covington police at 2am and they found that he had a bag of weed in his shoe, and expired plates.....nice work young man.
I am sorry that this has to be one of my first post. I do love me my Bengals. I never mean to be negative, but the off season has been a bunch of crap.
Bob Huggins isn't working as a scout for the Bengals, is he? This sounds like one of his teams.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteThe Bengals currently have a rule that they can't fire a player for off-field behavior (which is why Chris Henry is still around). I'm betting that coaches and management will have some discussions about modifying that rule in light of recent developments.
Man, I should read the local paper more. This town is a lot more entertaining than I gave it credit for.
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that if it was up to Marvin Lewis, that he would have had Chris Henry out of here a long time ago. But now with him continuing to sign on more thugs in light of all this that has happened, I am not so sure anymore.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are rank amateurs. Did you hear about the JuCo football players in California who recently got busted for gang raping an 11 year-old girl? http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/states/california/northern_california/15040143.htm
ReplyDeleteWe're a long way from home -- Welcome to the Bengaldome...
