i don't like to be pessimistic but public debates are set up before they even take place. it's all about sponsers and money which politicians love and accept. this way the element of surprise and uncertainty is removed. it's just another way to of cutting corners away from real competition. ever heard of the now infamous "memorandum of understanding?" it's been like this since the 80s. the truth is held hostage at the expense of the common man. oh, we're so proud of our freedom! it's twisted.
what this guy says, everyone knows. but this isn't acutally the reality when less than 10% of the population is doing the truth telling. there's a direct correlation here with the corp. media and its psychological power and influnece on the culture. even the author of this article that you cite came right out and admitted how uncomfortable he feels in saying this. truth is not very important in this society. it's all very strange, sad and insane.
