Stalin and Hitler: Pawns of Satan?
"'I am convinced that the Nazis were all possessed. All you have to do is think about what Hitler - and Stalin did. Almost certainly they were possessed by the Devil.
You can tell by their behaviour and their actions, from the horrors they committed and the atrocities that were committed on their orders. That's why we need to defend society from demons.
According to secret Vatican documents recently released wartime pontiff Pope Pius XII attempted a 'long distance' exorcism of Hitler which failed to have any effect."
This raises a couple of questions...
1. If the Nazi's were all possessed, that means that Benedict XVI, then Ratzinger and a Hitler Youth, was also possessed by Satan. Of course, he denies being a Nazi, which is kind of like Clinton claiming he didn't inhale.
2. Pius XII attempted a long distance exorcism of Hitler? At very least, it would seem he did very little concerning Hitler, aside from making sure the Vatican didn't get plundered by fascists.
Well, at least we can rest assured that one thing is absolutely true:
"Behind Harry Potter hides the signature of the king of the darkness, the devil."
Don't forget about Led Zeppelin...
All the secrecy, ritual and deception: gotta give The Church mad props for being the great seducer.
ReplyDeleteAnd "Caster out of demons"...? Holy crap, D&D and Magic: The Gathering here we come. What a kick-ass title! Sounds like The Wizard may have met his match. :-)
Evil isn't something that must render people incapable of properly functioning. It only does so when we are taught to dread and loathe it. I'm not saying that we should be indifferent to evil. When one watches a horror film one is frequently scared. Sometimes the good guy loses but he doesn't stop trying to prevail. One's presence and awareness can be significantly reduced but the situation is still manageable because we are still watching (and so is the good guy). So therefore evil is just a state of mind. It becomes overwhelming and manipulative as we are taught extreme helplessness. The science and philosophy of Connectivity proves this wrong. Wouldn't you agree?

Um, sorry I didn't sign my first/original "anonymous" reply to this blog. I'm the one who posted the comment about the "Caster out of demons" title.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea, really, what the second anonymous poster is talking about. The equation of the Vatican's secrecy with watching puported (yet fictional) evil in a horror flick seems like a woeful false analogy to me.
Whatever.

I'll clarify. The statement is more about what we think of as evil rather than the article, Hitler, Stalin, the Vatican, etc. No analogies between what I'm saying and the article. I don't believe there's a boogie man out there to get people. Reality is determined by human thought and action. Power attacks are something humanity hasn't learned to overcome yet. We're taught that violent force is sometimes necessary for a variety of reasons. Hence, this is why we remain combative and resistent to change. This is why evil seems so powerful.
